Cats are amazing creatures. Anyone who has read Rudyard Kipling’s story called ‘The Cat That Walked By Himself’ will understand the complexity of their personalities. One moment they are all over you, purring and rubbing, and the next they are aloof, cool and untouchable. Here’s some funny advice from funny cats!
The vet is a place with a horrible smell that humans take you if you are sick. To avoid going to the vet, run outside and hide when you see the cat-carrier. When you are eventually caught, struggle as much as you can so they can’t put you in the carrier.
On the way to the vet, meow as loudly as possible. If you can, put your claws through the carrier’s bars and scratch the human. When you arrive at the vet, push yourself as far back in the carrier as you can. Also splay your legs out. They will really battle to get you out.
When you get home and it’s time for your medicine, run as soon as you hear the pills rattling in the bottle. Squirm when they try to open your mouth. If they do succeed in getting the pill in, get onto the nearest chair and throw up. If you can’t make the chair in time, a Persian rug will do nicely.
It’s always great fun to disturb a sleeping human. Use the following direct approach – head-butt, purr, meow or trample on him or her. If there is no response, you will have to try something else. Rattle the blinds, rip down the posters, or scratch your claws vigorously on the base of the bed. You are sure to get some reaction.
When guests arrive, quickly work out which one hates cats. Get onto that lap as fast as possible. The guest who likes cats should be treated with disdain and aloofness. Do not succumb no matter how sweetly they call you. If they persist, a sharp nip to the ankle or a quick scratch on a pair of stockings will do the trick. Whenever a guest needs to use the toilet, follow him or her in, and then just sit and stare.
Finally if you want to reward your owner, the best way is to present a disemboweled rodent, frog or garden snake. When you see the expression on his or her face, it will be worth it! So there you have it – some sound feline advice from funny cats!
